Range: F#2-F#4
Tempo: 80 - 200 bpm
Illustrator: Miwasiba
Release date: July 16th, 2015
Prices:
[Download] 10800 yen
[Upgrade] 5400 yen

---
On 23 April 2015, it was announced that v flower would receive an update for the VOCALOID4 engine.

According to Miwasiba, Flower is female. The reason for the boy-ish design is because 'perfect flowers' have both pistil and stamen and this design is supposedly to be the 'stamen' and the v3 flower design is the 'pistil'.

Tweet source from Miwasiba
Miwasiba also posted Flower's concept art on twitter to clear up her gender drama. Here's the concept art:

V4 Flower is actually an update for Flower from Vocaloid 3. Flower, the mascot character of the software v flower, is a VOCALOID3 library. Her voice was described by HoneyWorks as a "a charming female vocal" with a powerful, androgynous-sounding voice. The vocal allows her to have the reserved female tone needed for slow rock songs yet have the heavy sound needed for faster and more upbeat rock. She has a sad tone of voice in her bass, this is designed to give her the impression of a kuudere in nature. Her treble has a boyish sound to it.

MAIKA - Vocaloid 3 Character

Age:  19
Height: 167 cm
Weight: 55 kg
Voice provider: -
Illustrator: Noriko Hayashi
Pitch range: E2 ~ D4
Tempo range: 60 ~ 150 BPM

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MAIKA is a Spanish VOCALOID developed and distributed by Voctro Labs, S.L., and was released in December 2013 for the VOCALOID3 engine. On September 12, 2013, Voctro Labs revealed that ONA, their "private" VOCALOID, shared the same voice provider as MAIKA.

Maika's Voice
MAIKA has a powerful feminine voice. In the lower registers she has a softer, more airy voice, while in the higher registers she has a more intense timbre. She has an extraordinarily broad pitch range, which switches from a chest voice to a head voice in the highest registers. This makes her voice suited for a large range of musical genres and styles.

While MAIKA is a Spanish voice bank, she includes an extended range of phonemes which allow for great flexibility in pronunciation. You can check out some demos of MAIKA singing in other languages such as: Portuguese, Italian, Catalan, English and Japanese.

Vocaloids and Their Mascots

VOCALOID, as you know, is a voice synthesizing application that have been sold commercially since 2004. And usually, the Vocaloid engine has a mascot/avatar/personna which is also called "VOCALOID(s)". Not all Vocaloids have a physical form. And some mascot of the vocaloid engine have a biography included with their package while others leave only vague hints or none at all. The mascot has no effect on the software itself and is done purely for decorative reasons.

For example, as you know Hatsune Miku has a masot of a girl with a turquoise hair, and Kagamine Rin has a mascot of 14 year old girl with short blonde hair wearing white headbands.

VY1 has a mascot, but it is not a person, unlike many other Vocaloid mascots. It is a hair pin and represents the Vocaloid2 package, and a more elaborate version for VY1v3. So, if you find a mascot of VY1 as a person or a girl, it is not offically true. It's probably just a fan made.

VY1's masot

And all the characters and vocaloid's biography told here is actually refered to mascots of Vocaloids. You can read their biography by searching on the searching box or just click some links provided.

MEW - Vocaloid Character

Name: Mew (ミウ / Miu)
Gender: Female
Age: -
Height: -
Voice Provider: Miu Sakamoto
Illustrator: Ryuji Otani
Range: G2~G4

"Mew" is a singer library created based on artist Miu Sakamoto's voice.

In Japan, her vocals have been, for the most part, positively received, though few producers are currently using her. She is the second least popular Vocaloid 3 release for 2011. She's also the first YAMAHA Vocaloid to have an official avatar design.

Mew's tattoo shows her name written phonetically (how it's pronounced). The way how is written (with an that features the suprasegmental's long vowel) suggest it was used English phonetic notation, something curious considering Mew is a Japanese voicebank.

About MEW's voice provider, Miu Sakamoto:
Miu and her cat, Savami.

She was born on May 1, 1980. She grew up in Tokyo until she was nine years old her parents decided to move to New York to continue their music careers. In 1997 she sang for Ryuich Sakamoto's "The never ending story". In 2006 she released an album called "Harmonious". She has a contract with Yamaha Music.

The cat on the boxart was modeled after Miu Sakamoto's own cat "Savami".

AVANNA - Vocaloid 3 Character

Name: Avanna
Age: -
Height: -
Range: D2~G4
Illustrator: EmpathP (Aki Glancy)

---

Avanna is labelled by those working on her as their best vocaloid they have produced so far, having also a large vocal range. She has a soft higher-pitched vocal then some of their past Zero-G vocaloids and sings with a slight celtic ring to her voice. Her voice is realistic sounding with a natural tone, with less undesirable output results in comparison to past Zero-G vocaloids.
Avanna's voice is clear and she has strong consonants pronounication compared to her vowels.

Her consonants sometimes overpower her vowel sounds. She is also regarded a little difficult to tune at times. She is also not good at holding long drawn out notes.
When using some syllables involving the "oo" [u:] sound, specifically "choo" [tS u:], "shoo" [S u:] or "soo" [s u:], she sings them with a "y". Turning them into "chyoo", "shyoo" and "syoo". In some instances where this happens, the sound [U] can be used instead of [u:], but it doesn't always work.

Her voicebank does not have breath phonemes. They are separate from the voicebank in a downloadable zip file. Therefore, they are unaffected by parameter adjustments and have to be added and edited manually outside of the V3 editor.

YOWANE HAKU - Vocaloid Character Profile

Name: Yowane Haku (弱音ハク)
Gender: Female
Age: -
Release: November 21, 2007
Creator: CAFFEIN (カフェイン)
Character Item: Wine Bottle

。。。

Haku was originally made as a representation of songs that use Hatsune Miku but ended up sounding awful. She became popular and her creator Caffein later established other characters following the same procedures, each representing a slightly different aspect of failure within the Vocaloids.

Haku is one of the Vocaloid derivatives that became officially recognized by Crypton Future Media, the publisher of the Character Vocal Series for Vocaloid 2. The other derivatives bearing this distinction is Miku Hachune, Neru Akita, Meiko Sakine, and Tako Luka.

Haku is referred to as a "VOYAKILOID" (in Japanese, ぼやく) - 'Boyaku' means grouchy or to grumble and complain, the pronunciation in Japanese is Boyakiroido.
