How to Use UTAU [Insert Voicebanks]

you need to have:
1.UTAU program. You can download it here (better to put it on English. Read first, Tutorial How to put UTAU in English).

2.Some voice banks. If you don't have your own yet, you can choose and download here.

3. Make sure your UTAU program has seveal tools called wavtool.exe and resampler.exe. Don't worry, usually, they are already in one package with UTAU. Just make sure they saved in the same folder.

Tutorial:
1. Open your UTAU progam.

2. First, go to the menubar, Tools > Option.




3. Click, Bank Regist > Select.




4. Choose your UTAUloids voice bank from your computer file. You can download it as I've said before. There are some files: a.wav, e. wav, i.wav, etc.. You can choose whichever. Click > Open.




5. Select the voice bank, don't forget to click 'ADD' to Add your file before clicking OK button (Look at the picture). Not just one, you can add several voicebanks, like this pic:




6. You can't make the utau sing before you choose wich voicebank that you've inserted. Look at menubar, click Project > Project Property.




7. Choose your voicebank. Then OK.




8. If the top left box has filled with the utau's picture, now you can make your utau sing. But not all Voicebanks has a picture. To check her/his sound, right click wherever on the board, then click 'Sound List'.




9. Click whichever file and hear the sounds like, 'a', 'bi', 'ou', etc. And make sure you've turn on your speaker, lol. Good luck!

What is Utau?

UTAUloids

They were originally considered Vocaloids as well because of Kasane Teto, the pioneer (if not the first UTAUloid), being attempted to pass off as a real Vocaloid. UTAUloids refer to voice banks that work on Vocal Synthesizer Tool UTAU, with accompanying anime-inspired avatars, just like Crypton's Character Voice Series for VOCALOID. The reason for segregating them is to differentiate them from Fanmade Vocaloids that use existing voices and run on Yamaha's Vocaloid and Vocaloid2 platform, or those supplied with actual singing voices. Because UTAU has the ability to manually import voice sounds from WAV files, it is quite easy to create "our own" UTAUloids- which has resulted in a large boom of voice banks from all over the world.

How To Create an UTAU Voice Bank (Recording)

I was looking at my blogs stats and I found a keywords that some people searched my blog with it. Titled: 'How to put your voice in vocaloid'. You cannot put your voice into it! -___-" Are they understand about Utau?

You cannot put your voice into vocaloid. But you can do it with Utau. Why that two sentences are different? Because Vocaloid and Utau are different! UTAU is in no way affiliated with Vocaloid. It's engine was developed by a group of users, and not YAMAHA, or CRYPTON, the creators of Vocaloid. For further explanation just click at this link and read just 'What is Utau?' part.

TUTORIAL

To put your voice into Utau, you must make a voice bank first. Voice bank are some sample of your voice which will be used at Utau.

Here's the tutorial how to create an Voice Bank I've found. Not really detailed. But maybe it can helps:

First, you must record your voice. When it comes to recording I always suggest making each sample 2 seconds long and using the program you are using to record (Audacity for me) to fade out a little bit of the end.
If you are looking for a relist (a list of things to record) I just searched hiragana on Wikipedia and recorded according to that.
You want to save all of your samples in the same folder, just remember that.

When importing your samples in to UTAU, click T then O then the second tab in the pop-up menu.
You will see a large box then two smaller input boxes below it.
The bottom-most input box has a button to it's right, click it.
Find the folder that your UTAU samples are in then click on one of your samples then open.
In the input box above the one you just used, is where you put the name of your UTAUloid then click the left most button on the right of the box.
The right most button is the delete button.
Click OK when your are done with this.

Now you have to make the .frq files.
Click T then S (or ctl + G) and a pop-up menu will open with all of your samples listed.
You will have to click sample individually then click the second button to the right.
Click okay on the pop-up then wait.
When you are done waiting, a little circle will appear on the right most part of the large box under frq.
You will have to do this for each sample you recorded.
Once all of the samples have circles, click okay at the bottom of the box.

You can start using your UTAUloid after that.

What is Utau and How to Download It

What is UTAU?

UTAU is a voice-synthesis software made for the Windows Operating system. Like Vocaloid, you are in control of a vocalist to sing your songs for you. Though, UTAU doesn't have as many features as Vocaloid; UTAU does give the option to import your own voices or others voices into it, to be used for singing. This will be covered in later tutorials. UTAU is freeware, which means you don't pay for it, or the voices used. Everything is free, so if you paid for anything about UTAU or it's voices, you've been gypt!

UTAU is in no way affiliated with Vocaloid. It's engine was developed by a group of users, and not YAMAHA, or CRYPTON, the creators of Vocaloid.

The creators of UTAU have said all voices can be used in commercial work with no charge. Though, a person can sue if their voice was recorded without permission. So don't record any famous singers voices.

How to Download UTAU?

Finishing the Utau download process doesn't mean you can use it now. You must record your voice and make Voice Bank (VB). But if you won't, you can download it. This is one site where you can download a VB. You can save some VB, not just one. After finishing download process, you can start to use Utau. But your Utau program will in Hiragana/Japan language or even can't read. Like menu bar in this picture:




Don't worry, You can change it to English. For further tutorial (to change it to English), you can click this link.

How to put Utau in ENGLISH

Well, I'll explain as clear as I can about "How to Put Utau in English":

1. First, you must have an Utau program and know where you saved the folder. If you don't have it yet, you can download it here. For Utau download tutorial, click this link.

2. To change it into english, start to download the file on this page. (I don't know exactly what is the file's form, but I know exactly this file is for changing the language into English)
And click the button:




5. Next, after the download process complete, open the file > right click > extract file here.

6. And.. Done. You can open your UTAU program and see if it woks. If it haven't changed yet, make sure again that all files are in the same folder with the UTAU.
